Jon Stewart is brilliant and I know for a fact that if I ever met him I wouldn’t be able to speak. This is exactly how I picture it: I would have a awkward , big-eyed stare plus a mouth hung ever so slightly open in awe. I would not be able to make eye contact for more than a mili-second, at best, without then having to look directly at the floor. I would be unable to form actual words and if I did try all that would come out would be a strange sort of mumble.

He might be the only person I feel this way about.

I don’t know why exactly, but it always brings me pleasure when I read things like this about Starbucks. Probably because when I worked there for a short time they seemed so snobby about their products. The sniffing and slurping of the coffee. Writing down what it’s key notes were and what your initial taste impression was. I just don’t get it! Besides, there is nothing more annoying than a coffee snob, well, except for a wine connoisseur.

Don’t get me wrong, I still have the occasional Starbucks iced grande solo decaf caramel latte (God help me if I didn’t get the order correct - yet another example of their superiority complex). But the only reason for that is because there isn’t anywhere else to get an iced coffee around here. I do believe there might be a problem when you feel the need to manufacture mini pamphlets advising your customers how to say the items they want in the proper order. That is just a hunch.
